Voting Equipment

Columbia County is proud to have implemented Dominion Voting’s Democracy Suite for our voting system, which is comprised of two different types of tabulators.

ImageCast Evolution (Precinct Tabulator)

The ImageCast Evolution is the machine voters will be most familiar with as it can be found in all Election Day and Early Voting locations. With a 19-inch touchscreen, the ImageCast Evolution offers a simple and intuitive voting experience. Also, accessible voting is an integrated feature so that everyone uses the same paper ballot on the same machine.

   ImageCast Central (Vote-By-Mail Tabulator)

Voters who choose to vote by mail can have peace of mind that their vote is secure and properly counted. ImageCast Central high-speed scanners boast the highest EAC certified security standards. Canvassing (the process by which vote-by-mail ballots are counted) usually begins about a week before the election and continues up until the polls close on Election Day. Although the vote totals are kept secret until Election Night, the canvassing process is open for the public to observe.
